I'm a martial artist and self defense advocate turned, first grade teacher turned professional mixed martial artist.

This time last year I had to make one of the most difficult decisions of my life. I had planned for years to go full-time with my martial arts career but I was terrified of leaving my cozy government-paid teaching position. It wasn't until 2020 when I switched from a dual-income household to braving this big world by my damn-self. I found myself taking on a new school year in the midst of major changes unraveling; I knew what I had to do but I was struggling with the idea of exchanging my passion for teaching to pursue a passion I've had since I was a kid myself.

It didn't take long into the new school year before the lingering pursuit I placed on the back burner caught up with me. You may be familiar with that itching feeling that we should be somewhere else, doing something else--like your calling reminding you it's still waiting. Luckily for me I had the right support and knew EXACTLY what that something else was and where I needed to be to make it happen.

So I moved from a tiny island in the Pacific that had been my home for over a decade and jumped back to my roots in Southern California to make that shit happen.
