Chelsea Designs: new art from old art 🖤✂️

I’ve been rearranging my furniture and wall art in my home to welcome in a sunnier season ☀️ I wanted to lighten up my space and incorporate more white so I brought out more of my white frames. Most of my prints and pieces are heavy on black so I took two minimal prints that I had from IKEA and created some fresh new art by cutting, cropping, shaping and taping. I was able to make newer-whiter art to fit the vibe of my new setup just by getting creative with my old art.
TIP: instead of tossing or storing old basic wall art that doesn’t interest you anymore, make your own art with your favorite parts of the old! This not only allows you to get creative and less wasteful, but how cool is custom art that nobody else has? 🖤

Black lingerie is absolutely my favorite 🖤
The classiness of black intimate wear makes me want to have an entire closet full of beautiful black lingerie 🤩
One thing I love about black in general design is the way it contrasts and draws the eye in. This is a reason that black clothing and black lingerie are so cherished as well as black furniture, black artwork, etc.
Another reason I admire the simplicity of black lingerie is the never-ending opportunity to dress it up and get creative. I love incorporating chains, leather, latex, mesh, you name it, into my black lingerie.

Chelsea Designs: bath towels 🤍

Folding bath towels like this adds a touch of luxury into any bathroom space! Small yet thoughtful details like a clean towel fold can totally transform a bathroom experience to feel more like a spa visit 🧖🏼‍♂️🚿

Additional tips to make this fold more pleasing:
- Use one color/texture of towel. Not only does this bring unity into your bathroom, but having the same towels makes the pretty details of the fold more noticeable
- Have two towel sizes. In my bathroom, 4 of the towels are XL bath towels and the two at the top are standard towel size. Stacking the rolls with the smaller towels at the top looks polished and organized.
- Smooth and pull tight during each step of the towel fold to ensure there are no weird seams or lines
- Center and line up the points of the “triangle” in the middle of the towel fold when done

Chelsea Designs Accent Lighting 🤍💡

I recently took apart my modular sofa and separated the chaise lounge portion with the idea of creating a cozy reading corner in my living room.
The combination of tall ceilings and low furniture can make any room look heavy and dull which is why it is important to balance visual weight not only around the room but also from floor to ceiling! Balancing the visual weight in a room can greatly enhance the architecture you are working with.
I hung this delicate geometric light from the ceiling to balance out the visual weight. Notice how the thin black cord runs parallel with the white painted pipes, creating a satisfying linear look.

TIPS:
- Use lighting to draw attention to focal points in a room
- Balancing your room’s height is key to creating a space with good design

I’m back from a few days off of social media 🤍
I’ve been enjoying every moment of this last week with my wonderful friends. This has been the best birthday of my life and I am so grateful for how loved and appreciate I feel.
Look at this perfect cake @dressuperis had made for me 🥺 she knows my style so well. This was a sparkly silver cake with a white chocolate hard shell on top and gorgeous black hand lettering.

Designing an evening Vegas fit 🖤

I’m in Vegas with my girls!! Everyone looked sooooo cute last night. I wore this vegan leather shacket over a pair of black shorts and a metallic silver belt.
Shackets are basically a cross between a shirt and a jacket and are incredibly versatile. I love the way this shacket lays more casually on the shoulders as opposed to a blazer. Finished with a metallic silver strappy heel and small black bag.

I always love my minimal silver accessories but my absolute fav is the diamond that I have on my tooth 💎🤩
I had this diamond put on back in January as a little birthday gift to myself while I was in LA celebrating. The life of the adhesive was estimated to last about 2-6 months but this baby is still hanging on almost a year later and I’m not mad about it. I kind of want to get another one on the other side.... what do we think?
