1 week into a cut, and just started two weeks of active rest. My recent bulk saw me hit 181 lbs.β€”first time I was able to add weight since COVID a year ago. Looking forward to my next chest-centric training block in May!!!

Roughly halfway through my winter training block

Cable shrugs, 155 pounds per side for 12…3 sets.

Almost through my first week of a new and very intense 12-week training block. No particular focus as far as muscle groups; reconnecting with the basics (chest press, barbell squats, and deadlifts). Here’s to being stronger and bigger in my 50s than I was in my 40s!

Not the sexiest exercise, but not going to skip calves on this mesocycle’s version of leg day! This seems like a good weight for the rep range I’m aiming for.

Second mesocycle of this back-focused training block, and continuing to work on my form for this hamstrings exercise.
Tomorrow is back, chest, and arms, then two days of recovery. My upper body could take a big boost in volume, while my legs a much more modest boost.

This season it’s all about building my back, while trying to convince my overall body that we need to be bigger. My body weight still hasn’t recovered from the weight loss I experienced with Covid earlier this year, despite my high intake of protein. So adding back in these compound exercises seems the thing to do!

Going for that full range of motionβ€”I’m having to really focus on keeping the weight throughout my feet and not just my toes, and not letting my lower back round by keeping my core engaged.

Between training blocks, in an active rest phaseβ€”very light full body sessions twice a week and moderate cardio three times a week. I’m at the lightest I’ve been in a whileβ€”170 pounds
