I know it's been a while since Ive done any art. During the week of my birthday, I was admitted to the hospital for three days as I was diagnosed with Diabetes, then released, vowing to make a change.
I did and since then I’ve adopted a lifestyle change to get better. I hadn't felt the itch to do a lot of things- including art. But earlier this week, one of the people I follow here- @thetiffanyflowers had a serene pic that inspired me to draw and paint on my tablet. I completed it finally last night and it made me smile deep. I felt good and happy doing this piece. Just wanted to share what inspired me. I call it “Tiffany’s Lake View.”
I imagine some things will return as well, but for now, this artist is happy just to have the creative juices flowing again.

Today is my birthday. I’m officially 54 Years Old. I’m spending the day in the hospital dealing with the diagnosis of Chronic Kidney Disease. I’m not sad because I’m glad to have one more year around the sun and it’s better than the alternative which sadly would involve a eulogy. Take your meds and enjoy your days. Celebrate the simple thing of waking up.

I’m Poly and had a shitty Valentine’s Day… as usual. Although happy for my partners, I was home cooking for my parents and spent the day aimlessly watching YouTube wrestling videos. My partners were with their primaries, so at least they enjoyed either good food, sex or both. However, woke up this morning and saw this which made me slightly smile. It’s the little things.

I admit one thing about myself- I don’t settle. I can take a few weeks to do one pic and I’m now ok with that. Younger me would bang out a pencil drawing, ink it and try to get flat colors in all within one day. Now, older me is like, ”Brother, take your time! No one is paying you and at the most, you get a ‘Wow! Thanks babe!’ And that’s good enough!” I have three new pieces to work on- one I can say is long overdue. If it takes weeks to do that one, it’ll be fine because she and the others are worth it!

The always sexy @ryankeely who is in my top 5 of favorite actresses. Took two weeks to get right, but I am indeed totally satisfied. Thank you Ryan.

Before I start painting, I have to vent to get into a creative mindset. I was approached by a random model I’ve never heard of and said she liked my work, but... ugh the entitlement! I feel the need to post this as there may be people who want me to paint for free.

If I tell any model I’m a fan of that I would like to paint them- I’m doing it for myself really and if they wanted the original file- that would be theirs if they asked me not to share. Now, if I’m being asked (commissioned) to paint a model, there is going to be a fee. I’m nowhere near as handsome nor sexy that I can post nudes of myself and I’m single as a $1 bill with no sexual partner. In other words, this is how I make MY living. If I take time out of my day to message or chat- I have that freedom and fanship with models to do so. Otherwise, I spend my days in front of a huge ass Wacom tablet that cost me a pretty, shiny, diamond-like penny that’s the size of a portable TV dinner table-stand. I’m hunkered over it for at least 10 hours a day at times. If I take time out from commissions to do a portrait of a model- that’s a break for me and I don’t get paid.

So, to reiterate two points: 1) if you want to commission a painting of yourself from me, I will charge you based on what you want and the time it takes. 2) If I approach you and do art of you- that’s free; if you want it private, that’s free too because I approached you.

Hope that clears things up. Now I’m going to start my work.
