A cheeky little kitten photo dump of Dana & Rahne to start your weekend off right. These two are defining new extremes for the definition of cute.

Here is a quick update on the kitties. They had their vet appointment and luckily they don't require any amputations and since they are in no pain and their limbs are causing them no discomfort they are okay with leaving them as they are. Maybe if they had seen a vet when they were much younger their paws could have been fixed but at this point luckily they are causing them no problems. So here is a quick video of Dana showing off how absolutely adorable she is and how much her paws don't bother her.

Thank you very much for your kind words yesterday and for taking the time to learn about Sarah. Yesterday was difficult but today I wanted to introduce you to her sisters, who are happy and healthy and making my day brighter. Please welcome Rahne & Dana. They are both Torbies which are a crossbreed of tortoiseshell and tabbies.

You probably have already noticed their front paws which are a little off from how they normally would be. Both of these girls have clubbed front paws and have an appointment tomorrow with a vet to take a look at what we can do to straighten them out. But don't worry, they may look painful but the truth is both of the girls are not bothered by them at all and are happy to get around using their elbows and back legs (I'll post a video later showing you how they do that). They still manage to climb, play and jump around my house, like any other kitten I have had and are equally content to just cuddle and get pets.

I have some sad news to share. I lost my first kitten this morning. I knew this might happen eventually since I have the habit of taking in the sick and needy ones lately. I purposefully did not share her with you yet because I worried she might be the one. Her name was Sarah and she was a good girl. I still have her two siblings who are healthy and I will introduce you to them shortly. But for now, I'm mourning the loss of Sarah and I need a moment to sit with that first. Thanks for caring, and I appreciate you all for being here.

Still waiting on the arrival of my new litter. I am hoping they will get here in the next day or so. Until then, here is a reminder of how sweet of a baby Alex was and how much he loved his stuffie.

The alien has landed in his forever home. Alex has been adopted out! He was the weirdest kitten I have ever have and in the end, turned into a little cuttle bug who just wanted to be on or near me as much as he could. Especially if my hair was in reach for him to nibble on. He started out so small and fragile but he left my house strong and healthy, so I did my job. Now if you'll excuse me, I have to get there house ready for my next litter. I have 3 Torbies on their way to me from an offsite shelter. Get ready for a fresh set of cuteness coming very soon!

Kitties who bite! Not every kitten chooses violence and if they do, most learn what is an acceptable level of biting by their siblings through play. Alex is a solo baby so this has been a harder lesson to teach him. But he's better about it now than he was when I first got him and he's even learning commands that tell him to stop when he finds himself in attack mode with my hands or feet, which should not be considered chew toys.

But for your viewing pleasure, I wanted to show you how cute he is, despite his need to eat my face. This is behavior I don't normally allow, but I wanted to capture it for posterity. Enjoy.

Alex decided to test my heart this weekend by getting a fever and scaring the living daylights out of me Saturday night. He was breathing rapidly, inactive, had weepy eyes, hot to the touch and acting as though he might just fade away. He also wouldn't fully retract his 3rd eye lids. But thanks to the good people at Austin Pets Alive, we got him fluids, pain meds and antibiotics pronto and by Monday he was back to his normal crazy self. Its scary when these babies, as fragile as they are, get sick and you want to do everything in your power to help them get better as fast as possible. But this is part of what you sign up for when you take in neonatal kittens.

The first two photos here are him at his worst, looking as sad as you can get. And then the videos are him on Monday, back to acting like the absurd creature that he is. Thanks for sending Alex continually good vibes.
