Between work, prepping the house for guests, shopping & wrapping gifts, fostering, and another minor surgery I’ve been completely blindsided by how quickly the days are going by. Channeling the Christmas spirit now! (After one more work event… 😜)

We got these fish (& tank) from a friend. I have no salt water aquarium knowledge so have spent endless hours researching and found the forums / threads seem to have the most knowledgeable folks, it just takes forever to read through everything. And then there’s deciding who to trust… There has to be an easier way, no?

This weekend was a whirlwind; 3 events- 2 of which I put on, a sick kid, cleaning and moving a fish tank, prepping for Christmas and house guests, and today my eyes are saying, ‘rest, please?!’.

I know it’s bad for me (so many things are) but 16° is too damn cold - I need warmed up!

Today was SO NICE for December in Colorado, I think we hit 73. Spent the day watering trees & the yard, washed the worlds sickest-not-sick-makes-no-sense-dog and enjoyed a special treat from the advent calendar those damn pesky elves brought 😜

I’ve been feeling like I could sleep for daysssss.
Too much to do, too little time.

Day 4 with a sick puppy. Hopefully the medicine kicks in soon for her. I’m exhausted! 😩

We have no idea what she is. Wicked smart, noisy as hell at night and cuddly as can be. Part hyena maybe. 😜 She came from a Texas shelter with the name Chica but it doesn’t fit. Too tired to think of other names, help?

I have this BAD habit of wearing grandma bras, not even mom ones! So I grabbed one of these on Amazon. Husband approved. I definitely feel sexier when I’m wearing this. Might need to order a couple more!

::Get to Know Me::

I’m probably not your *typical* OF poster… 36, a PTO mom of two wild things, and married- just celebrated our 11th anniversary, so I figured I’d give you a little insight to who I am starting with the questions I see the most.

The reason I’m including this photo, is because it’s me, right now. I’m sitting in the garage after clearing the driveway of dirt so I’m a hot, sweaty mess. But I feel it’s a little insightful. I’m not afraid to get dirty, blisters on my hands, and sweat. (Though it doesn’t make for a good look 😜) Raised a Midwest girl, I don’t understand big cities and how women have the time to make themselves look perfect every day - that’s for special occasions here!

Ok. Quick list of ‘about me’, feel free to ask more.
🍩 Besides being mom, I am an event planner - weddings and car stuff (shows, launches, etc) - yes, you spy a little Tomboy in me.
🍕 Live in Colorado, transplanted from IL. No offense to my friends there, I really only miss the food.
🍾 I’m a little self conscious of my body, after two kids things aren’t what they used to be. Next to my body, my voice. I don’t know why but I hate it.
🍪 Joined OF because Reddit was getting weird/ invasive and the little extra $ will hopefully buy me a black stone, then a boat. 😂 Totally kidding.
🌮 I don’t take myself too serious 👆🏼 and don’t expect everyone to like me. Popularity contests may have been cool in high school, but I don’t waste my time trying to convince someone to like me. I don’t have to be your shot of whiskey and that’s ok.
🍺 Speaking of whiskey, I do indulge in the occasional adult beverage. That’s a lie. I just don’t drink on Mondays (which is also why I can’t lose weight). My favorite is Tito’s and soda water. Then Jameson, beer (no IPAs) and champagne. Margaritas belong in there too, but they go best with chips and salsa or a beach.
🍰 I love to entertain and cook. There’s typically always something going on at our house. If a guest shows up unexpectedly, I have snacks and drinks handy. Nights with friends involve big family style meals - I’ve perfected the pulled pork on the smoker but pizza nights are always a hit.
🍔 I’m not perfect. Shocking, I know.
🥃 I’ve had 6 knee surgeries which has eliminated some of my exercise abilities. TMI Alert: My recent surgery was on my uterus, I’m ok now. I think. I hope. I had some serious pain and they removed fibroids.
🐾 We foster dogs. I think we’re over 100. Our longest was a big pit named Arnold. I lost my beloved girl in May of last year. Our current girl came from the rescue we foster for and suffered perhaps more than me when Tilly passed.

I think that’s plenty for today.
