Snatched him out of 6ft of water while he was sitting in fallen timber structure. Tricked him with a 5" keitech paddletail on a weighted owner hook.

I caught my PB smallmouth today! 6lbs.

Slammed an 1/8 jig with a Jigmasters 3.5" Elite swimmer in silver flash.

Some life updates- I've been pretty busy as of late. I had a friend come visit from out of state, I got a new job, and I've been trying to hit the water every chance I get. Everything is starting to pay off!

Went to ********* lake today on the canoe. Second bass of the year, measured at 18in.

Bit the 1/6 oz ned paired with a 3in dolive craw in blue black cinnamon. Brought him in on my ML 7ft fast rod.

Markings were beautiful, and I'm not really used to seeing such distinct patterns in the smallmouth up here. They remind me a lot of the smallmouth in one of my favorite quarries back home. See photos for reference!

I love that I can fish for bass all year round, but there's something special about landing fish on opening day.

Landed this 16" prespawn smallmouth on megabass dark sleeper in 1/4oz. Lure is pictured in fish's mouth. Bounced of rocks while drifting in the wind, didn't even reel until I felt the weight of the fish. Probably about 8ft of water as I was fishing up the drop off. The lake I was at is a honey hole of mine that's maximum depth is 22'. Its only a few acres so it's one of the first raise in temperature and activity.

Oh also this is my first bass of the year, and the first fish in my canoe!

Since I've last updated you, I bought a canoe, built and jerry- rigged a stabilizing bar, and brought my pup on her first canoe trip! It was actually my second time ever too. No fish were caught but the stabilizer works like a charm and cost around $75 and and hour to build.

I got the day off today and it's snowing outside, so I'll be replying to messages, chatting, and sending sets out tonight.

Caught this pike before work at Nixon Creek. I'd say it was close to a 5 foot rock bottom- caught on the megabass vision 110 Jr in GP blue 2. Had a 14lbs flouro leader on my tatula 100 and tatula 7' jerkbait rod. Searching for bass as game fish season is closed till may 31 here.
This creek is only a crows fly from my house, I love that I live in a paradise like this!

Did you know the walleyes are in full swing for the spawn right now? Went to the lock in De Pere and spent a few hours fishing the fast current. Thousands of walleye and whitefish go up the river and collect in masses at the bottom of the lock. This momma was released to lay her eggs another day.

Beautiful buck skamanian steelhead from a lake michigan trib. Caught on 6lb test on a medium light St Croix Legend elite spinning set up. Weightless size 4 walleye hook with a cured chinook salmon sac. Casted about 20+ times before landing perfectly in the current under an overhang about a foot ahead a beautiful chrome hen and this bad boy in about 8 inches of water. First swipe and my line stops dead in the current- I set the hook and he zips to the right straight under a fallen tree. I jump off the shore into the water and make my way to the other side to work him without fear of hangups. He circles back around to me and I watch him pass my feet as I struggle to reel in to catch up to him. He zips past and under the tree ripping line from my spool, and my mate scoops him successfully on the other side.

The moment this buck swam back at me my knees went weak and it felt as time stood still. Is this it? Yet another beautiful fish lost?
